As site Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Advisor you will be responsible for dealing with all day-to-day SHEQ and client related matters. You will be supported by the company SHEQ manager but will be responsible for the smooth running of the project. Your duties will include:

  • Weekly site inspections for each site location
  • Populating the observation register and closing out open observations promptly
  • Taking ownership of NMPI (Near Miss Positive Intervention) register for the site and collecting reports from staff on a weekly basis, as well as submitting your own
  • Ensuring that Site specific Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) are written and available before new sites start, these can last a few days, but in some cases last a few weeks
  • Carrying out detailed accident/incident investigations promptly
  • Attending weekly progress meetings
  • Carrying out weekly toolbox talks for all staff
  • Carrying out Fire evacuation drills and chemical spill drills
  • Interacting with all site staff daily and being the go-to person for any SHEQ related issues, information or assistance
  • Ensuring that environmental audits are carried out and all environmental activities are closely monitored, including permits to pump, dust suppression and that all ecological factors are taken in to account
  • You will also be required to visit other local sites as and when required.
As Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Advisor you will be required to work 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.
To be considered as SHEQ Advisor candidates must have NEBOSH General, NEBOSH Construction and NEBOSH Environment qualifications, a valid CSCS card, current IOSH Membership (TECH IOSH or above) and a current driving licence. Candidates must also have previous on-site (muddy boot experience) from working as a H&S Advisor, Health and Safety and Environment audit experience and experience of completing Permits to break ground and signing off, along with good IT knowledge including knowledge of Excel and Word.
This is a temporary project role, anticipated to last approximately 6 months, hourly rate of pay £20-22.00 per hour PAYE.
