This is a great opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Manager to join a long established but still growing independent IT solutions company with a wide portfolio of market leading products and services.

Working as Infrastructure Manager you will:

  • Be responsible for managing all aspects of the company Data Centre services and for the wider IT of the business
  • Be responsible for managing Data Centre facilities maintained by external parties such as power, cooling, fire and security systems
  • Be responsible for ensuring the company continually achieve and improve documented SLA’s for all Data Centre services
  • Manage a small team of engineers to ensure smooth operation of the department at all times
  • Be an inspirational leader, coaching to improve team member performance and creating an environment for personal development of team members
  • Plan ongoing development of company services and the infrastructure to support them
  • Develop an agreed road map and financial forecasts
  • Ensure department KPI’s are achieved and contribute to achieving company KPI’s
  • Work with the Cyber Security Department to ensure best practice is followed throughout company platforms
  • Work with compliance on a regular basis to improve business processes and maintain company BCP

Along with other team members ensure that all systems are

  • maintained both virtually and physically
  • fully supported and that all documentation is completed and maintained
  • patched on a scheduled basis and urgent security patches deployed as and when required; and
  • detailed plans maintained as necessary for the replacement or upgrading of systems
  • Monitor individual team member KPI’s and ensure these are achieved

If successful, you will have flexible working hours, starting between 08:00 & 10:00 and finishing between 16:50 & 18:50 depending on start time (minimum 7-hour 50-minute day + 1-hour lunch break), Monday to Friday. Flexible remote working is fully supported subject to business needs.

Due to the nature of the role, some out of hours and weekend work will be required for all members of the team.

To be considered for this Infrastructure Manager role you should have:

  • Any current Microsoft server qualification and/or a Computer or IT based degree
  • Suitable networking qualifications such as: Comp TIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP
  • Nutanix Certified Associate, Professional, Master or Expert – Multicloud Infrastructure and Nutanix Platform Export
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering IT projects
  • Previous involvement in the delivery of critical business services
  • Leadership skills and the ability to set individual and team objectives

  • Hyper-Converged Infrastructure
  • Enterprise/Online backup platforms
  • Enterprise storage solutions DAS/SAN/NAS
  • Switch maintenance, configuration and advanced VLAN knowledge
  • Enterprise grade firewalls and routers
  • Strong Windows/Linux OS knowledge
  • Routing protocols BDP and MPLS technologies
  • Microsoft SCVMM/SCCM
  • Windows Clustering

Salary £47,000-£52,000 depending on experience, plus enhanced holiday accrual, company pension, private medical cover and life insurance (subject to length of service)
